Ken Baker

Founder & CEO

Ken has led Metric Theory from inception to a multi-million dollar agency.  Ken oversees the operation of all business units including sales, finance, marketing, people development and culture.

Ken also drives the long-term vision of Metric Theory, including the strategy for development of new service offerings, partnerships, and ways the company can improve digital marketing efforts for all clients.

Ken has led and built successful teams for the last 8 years in the digital marketing, SaaS technology and services spaces

Prior to founding Metric Theory, Ken was most recently the head of Sales operations for the Search Engine Marketing division of Meltwater Group, Meltwater Reach.  It is in this role that Ken found his passion for Online Marketing and Search Advertising. Ken developed the methodology for new customer acquisition and closed some of the first major accounts including Citrix Systems and Palo Alto Networks. Under his leadership, the organization was able to grow close to 100% YoY with a consistent over-delivery on revenue objectives. He was responsible for all sales personnel and revenue attainment. Prior to Meltwater Reach, Ken led the highest performing office for Meltwater News; a media monitoring and analytics software.

Ken received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Adam Edwards

Founder & Chief Client Officer

Adam leads a team of more than 40 paid search and Facebook advertising professionals and owns the results for over 230 customers. Adam’s team manages over $130 million in annualized ad spend and is focused on growing their clients’ digital marketing efforts profitably.  Additionally, Adam drives the evolution of Metric Theory’s digital strategies to ensure that the company’s methodologies are cutting edge in the ever-changing digital landscape.

Adam has worked in digital marketing for eight years. In his career, he has trained over 60 individuals in digital advertising principles, strategy, and client management.  Adam was recently named to the SF Egotist’s 2015 “32 under 32” list for marketing professionals.

Prior to Metric Theory, Adam served as the Director of Client Services for the Search Engine Marketing division of Meltwater Group, Meltwater Reach from 2010-2012.  He has directly managed SEM and FB efforts for clients ranging from publicly traded technology companies to retailers on the IR 500. Adam also previously worked on digital marketing campaigns for political candidates and non-­profits for MSHC Partners (now Blueprint Interactive). In 2008, he worked on the presidential campaign in Ohio.

Adam received his Bachelor of Science from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

Jeff Buenrostro

Founder, COO, & Chief People Officer

Jeff holds responsibility for general business operations including finance, accounting, HR, and culture.  Aside from operations, Jeff is instrumental in forming Metric Theory’s partnerships and business development activities.

Jeff’s background prior to Metric Theory includes both the operating and investing side of business. Most recently, Jeff was the Director of Business Development at Meltwater Group where he was responsible for leading partnerships and advised the company on new product development, acquisitions, and investments. He created and launched Meltwater Reach in 2010.

Previously, Jeff was an Associate at Viant Group, a San Francisco investment bank and venture firm where he initiated their alternative energy investment practice and worked on incubating technology companies. On the operating side, Jeff has been on the founding team of a number of startups and ran his own consulting practice for many years working on development projects in countries within Asia, South America, and Africa. He also has three years of public policy experience through his work with the Bay Area Council in San Francisco.  Jeff currently sits on the board of NatureBridge Golden Gate, the Bay Area division of a non-profit focused on environmental literacy.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from Stanford University, where he obtained certificates in Public Management and Global Management. Jeff is also trained in design methodology at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University.

Jeremy Brown

Founder & CMO

Jeremy oversees high-level strategy and training at Metric Theory. Jeremy has worked in digital marketing since 2000. His 13+ years of experience in Search Engine Marketing go back to the early days of Google AdWords and Overture.

Prior to Metric Theory, Jeremy was a key part of the founding team at the Search Engine Marketing division of Meltwater Group, Meltwater Reach. There he trained both the account services and sales teams in the best practices of Search Engine Marketing and crafted the unique strategy that allowed the team to grow from 0 to 150+ clients in two years.  As SEM Director, he oversaw high-­level strategy and training for a team that managed $60+ million in annual ad spend. He drove strategy and performance for clients such as Lord & Taylor, Ashley Home Furniture, and Palo Alto Networks.

Previously, Jeremy worked at SmartBrief as an early-stage employee where he created and ran the client services team. Working with clients such as HBO, Procter & Gamble, and IBM, he oversaw a team managing thousands of clients and millions of dollars in revenue.

Jeremy received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and B.A. in Government from Georgetown University.

Jenny Gale Howe

VP, Sales

Jenny leads Metric Theory’s sales team.  With over 5 years of experience in digital marketing under her belt, Jenny has vast experience in analyzing current SEM efforts and crafting improvement strategies.  Jenny has pitched and won accounts ranging from IR500 brands to small businesses.

Prior to Metric Theory, Jenny was a top performer and ran several sales teams as a Managing Director at Meltwater Group.  Her diverse background in sales & online media has brought Jenny from owning her own Retro-Inspired clothing company in Austin, TX and restoring 1950’s classic Chevy’s in her free time, to running the sales operations and her own eCommerce site, Gypstitch.

Jenny received a Masters of Human Services in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas

Amanda Ferrante

VP, Customer Success

Amanda manages the renewal process for all of Metric Theory’s 230+ clients, and simultaneously drives Metric Theory’s PR & marketing efforts.

With a background in sales, Amanda works with the Account Services teams in both offices to ensure that Metric Theory is communicating performance results and future strategy to all clients, resulting in customer success and retention.  Amanda is passionate about people development and uses her sales coaching experience to further develop the Account Services team’s presentation skills.

Amanda is an original Metric Theory team member, creating the company with the founders after 5+ years at the Meltwater Group.  She led several sales offices in the US and Canada as a Managing Director and entered the SEM world at Meltwater Reach in 2011.  Her passion for B2B technology and online retail has led her to uncover opportunities for growth and win SEM clients on both the IR500 and Fortune 500 lists.

Amanda also spent 3 years at a full-service advertising agency executing creative print, web, public relations, and corporate event programs for Fortune 500 companies.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Public Relations from Montclair State University.

Nadine Janker

Director, Account Services

As Director of Account Services, Nadine has been pivotal in building out the SEM Account Management team and successful culture in Metric Theory’s Denver office.   Nadine currently oversees operations, recruitment, development and management of a team of 15 account managers in Denver.  Nadine’s hard work has landed Metric Theory on the 2015 Best Places to Work list for the Denver Business Journal.

Nadine has managed a wide array of SEM accounts for clients ranging from B2B technology companies to large IR 500 ecommerce retailers.  During these experiences, she honed her ability to work closely with her clients to thoroughly understand their business and marketing goals.  By directly aligning these goals with data-driven SEM strategies, Nadine drives strong results for her office’s clients. When comparing Year-over-Year data, the 5 largest clients under Nadine’s team have seen a 110% increase in revenue and 65% increase in ROI on their paid search programs.

Prior to joining Metric Theory, Nadine served as Senior Account Manager at GearyLSF. In this role she managed SEM accounts with over $750k/month in ad spend.  In her spare time, Nadine serves as a mentor for Colorado Youth at Risk, and was recently named Mentor of the Year in 2014.

Nadine received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Brendan Buhmann  

Director of Technology 

Brendan brings 6 years of digital marketing to Metric Theory.  As Director of Special Projects, Brendan manages technology relationships and finds ways to make the entire Account Services team more effective.  He creates solutions and systems that go outside the scope of typical SEM management in order to allow Metric Theory’s customers to better understand the value of their marketing efforts.

Prior to joining Metric Theory, Brendan spent 5 years at Kenshoo.  He held many roles and achieved several promotions from Account Manager to Product Manager and eventually leading the Onboarding team.  Brendan’s experience at Kenshoo included working with some of the world’s largest and most complex SEM advertisers on account and technical strategy when it came to leveraging technology for optimization.  Brendan also held various positions at SunGard prior to joining Kenshoo.

Brendan has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University.

Brittany Blanchard 

Director, Account Services 

Brittany oversees the client base and a large Account Services team in the Denver office.

Brittany manages several of Metric Theory’s largest enterprise accounts, and specializes in B2B back-end lead tracking.  Her work in 2014 won Metric Theory a Kenshoo Infinity Award for excellent performance and innovative marketing strategy. Brittany also runs innovative Excel & PowerPoint trainings for the Account Services team.

Prior to Metric Theory, Brittany worked as a Strategy Analyst for IHS, a publicly-traded information company where she was responsible for evaluating and making improvements in profitability for product performance across several business lines.  Brittany also worked at Semler Brossy Consulting Group, an executive compensation consulting firm.

Brittany double majored in Economics and Mathematics, graduating Summa Cum Laude at The University of Arizona.

Josh Clauss

Director, Digital Strategy

Josh has worked in digital marketing for his entire career, spanning 7+ years and covering every discipline. Along with Brittany, he oversees all personnel and account management operations for the Denver office of Metric Theory. Josh’s Account Management teams guide over $15 Million in annual spend across 50+ clients to the highest standards of performance.

Prior to joining Metric Theory, Josh was the Director of Advertiser Services at Trada, a Google Ventures backed Boulder startup, and the world’s first crowdsourced PPC platform. At Trada, Josh managed Trada’s first 6 Account Managers, designing all training and process. Josh also was a leader on several new service offerings and products, including Trada’s first premier Account Management service division, in-house landing page design services, and industry-first keyword-level call tracking.

Prior to Trada, Josh managed digital and traditional marketing, PR, and branding of two local digital startup concepts founded in Denver – a socially responsible business reviews site, and a white-label lead-generation business directory. For these concepts, he was responsible for everything from user acquisition marketing to web analytics to social media analysis as the field was first emerging.

Josh graduated from the University of St Andrews with a Master of Letters in Marketing after receiving a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Josh is a craft beer enthusiast and Certified Cicerone®, also operating a beer industry consulting company called Coddled Bottle.

Dave Bershad

Director, Sales

As Director of Sales, Dave holds responsibility for coaching and training Metric Theory’s sales team.  He oversees objectives that continuously grow the new customer base.

Dave and his team uncover opportunities for advertisers to improve upon their existing digital advertising efforts.  By taking a thorough audit approach, Dave is able to offer customized solutions and develops strategies that drive growth in both front-end SEM metrics, as well as profit, revenue, and lead quality for Metric Theory’s clients.

Prior to Metric Theory, Dave was a Sales Manager at GearyLSF where he hired, trained, and oversaw a team.

Dave holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Organization & Management from Skidmore College.

Genevieve Head-Gordon

Director, Account Services

Genevieve oversees the client base, recruitment and growth of the SEM Account Management team in Metric Theory’s newest office in NYC. Along with management responsibilities, Genevieve manages several of Metric Theory’s larger enterprise accounts, in both the B2B and B2C spaces. In addition, Genevieve develops processes and executes on client retention initiatives for MT’s Account Services team.

Prior to Metric Theory, Genevieve worked as a Publicity Coordinator for Allied-THA Regional Marketing, an entertainment publicity company, where she was responsible for organizing and executing events, publicity and promotions for several major studios, including Screen Gems, Open Road Films, Universal Home Entertainment, IFC Films and 20th Century Fox.

Genevieve received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
